North Canterbury Intro to Fly Fishing November 2025

Join us as we prepare to start you on your journey of a lifetime of satisfaction, exploration, and adventure becoming a kiwi fly fisher person. New Zealand has some of the world's best fly fishing and there is something very special about spending time next to our rivers and lakes. Whether it is the calm and placid nature of fishing next to a crystal clear lake or the adventurous task of exploring a backcountry river you crave we will get you started with the basics.

Weather dependant, we will spend an evening fishing small river mouths and during the day we will fish the larger rivers nearby as well as brushing up our casting with some tuition.

We provide:

  1. Accomodation

  2. Rods, reels, and lines.

  3. Flies and lures but you are welcome to bring your own

  4. Evening meals and Breakfast but lunch is your own responsibility.

  5. Tuition on filleting and deboning your fish (should you be successful

You need:

  1. Good footwear and warm clothes

  2. Torch or head torch

  3. Any personal fly gear you have.

  4. Patience!!

We have several incredible fly fishing trips planned for next year so the intro course is a fantastic way to get prepared for more advanced trips.
