A reasonable level of fitness is required
Rifles and all hunting gear provided. However you can bring your own if you have your gun licence.

Following on from the success from the Hunting Skills course we have added an Intermediate Hunting Skills course. On this course we will push the distance of our shooting, hunters will do longer hunts on an iconic Canterbury High Country Station and learn more about the art of not only finding the animals but how to plan a successful stalk.
This event is open to any service person or their family that already has hunting experience and wants to learn more or any person that has already completed the Introduction to Hunting skills course.
Hunting is an incredible pastime with a lot to offer veterans and servicepeople in NZ. Adventure, challenges and fitness are all positive benefits as well as being able to fill your freezer with free range, organic, healthy and lean game meat. Especially now with meat being so expensive.
This year SSAANZ is using a new ballot system for our events. You will be able to sign on for the course, but you may not be selected in which case you will be refunded. This is to ensure fairness and getting access to our events.
HUNTING SKILLS COURSE
Hunting and gathering your own Kai is a basic human right and New Zealand has access to some of the best hunting in the world. Supercharge your learning with this information-packed, fun course. These hunting courses fill up fast so be in quick.
Basic Details are as follows:
Lesson on selecting gear, kill shots/marksmanship, animal behaviour and preparing your venison.
Breakfasts and evening meal provided, snacks and lunch not included.
all things going well each student will have the opportunity to harvest an animal. It’s up to you though.... we can’t pull the trigger for you!
Families welcome.
Firearms license not essential.
