Community Events Across Aotearoa

SSAANZ hosts community events throughout the year to bring veterans, serving personnel, and their whānau together in meaningful, supportive, and enjoyable ways.

Our events are designed to strengthen connection, reduce isolation, and build a sense of belonging within the veteran community, wherever our events reach across Aotearoa — with our calendar expanding into more regions every year.

Cost should never be the reason someone misses out. Our events are heavily subsidised through corporate and community support, keeping the cost to attend low for veterans and their whānau.

Every gathering reflects our founding kaupapa, Unity Through Adventure.

Whether the event is outdoors, social, or community‑based, we believe shared experiences help create lasting bonds, build confidence, and support wellbeing for those who have served and their families.

Our events are inclusive, family‑friendly, and open to a wide range of ages and fitness levels. Some events — like hunting trips or mountain traverses — have specific fitness or safety requirements, which we'll always outline clearly when you sign up. From regional meet‑ups to national gatherings, each event is an opportunity to reconnect, make new friendships, and be part of a supportive community grounded in service and whanaungatanga.
